Review
To start off, Chapter 262 begins with the text at the top saying the field is a back-and-forth struggle. Isagi, who has taken the lead role, begins to dominate the Emperor Kaiser. We jump right back into the match, where the ball is high up in the sky. The commentators mention that the ball is evenly matched, but the one dominating the aerial battle is none other than Kunigami Rensuke. Kunigami heads the ball right over Shidu’s head and gives it to Corona.
Isagi’s Determination
Isagi, while running, says that he can crush Kaiser and even destroy him. He’s now determined to take that step further and devour the Emperor, as the team is almost all his. Kaiser is thrown off balance, and Isagi recalls when he told Kaiser to kneel before him, even calling him a clown. He muses that if he hurls abuse at Kaiser now, he won’t be able to escape his obsession with Isagi, making his movements predictable. If Isagi takes advantage of that and aims for the back with Corona and Hiro, he can win with 100 percent certainty.
Kaiser’s Struggles
We then get an amazing panel of Kaiser still on the floor, while Isagi runs far ahead of him into what looks like an explosion or a black hole. As Isagi runs, he asks Kaiser if he doesn’t want to devour him, noting that Kaiser always thinks of himself as the main character. The scene then shifts to Kaiser’s perspective. He recognizes the suffocating feeling, likening it to the constraints his father once put on him. However, Kaiser tells himself that he has already surpassed his father long ago. Yet, because of Isagi, Kaiser’s very existence is shaking again.
Ness’s Support and Kaiser’s Breakdown
Ness suddenly appears, screaming Kaiser’s name and telling him to calm down. He advises Kaiser not to make any reckless plays and to wait for the right moment to fire off his new weapon, as he already has his offer from Real Madrid. However, Kaiser dismisses Ness’s advice, stating that if he loses now, everything he worked for will disappear. In Kaiser’s mind, losing here means his offer from Real Madrid and his throne within the team will be crushed by Isagi. He fears returning to a time when he wasn’t even considered human.
Kaiser’s Realization and Transformation
As Kaiser reflects on his fear of losing, he realizes that he has been fighting to protect what he already has rather than pushing himself forward. He calls this the “pitfall of an achiever’s heart” and understands that to prove his existence, he must discard his current glory and status. In a dramatic transformation, Kaiser’s arm evaporates into flower petals, symbolizing his decision to reset himself and become “zero.”
The Final Confrontation
Now covered in darkness, Kaiser asks himself if this is what he truly desires. He concludes that what he seeks is not a life of status but his own ego—his “zero.” With newfound resolve, Kaiser looks more furious than ever, shouting, “You shitheads!” This catches Isagi’s attention, and we end the chapter with a strong hint that Kaiser is ready to go all out, willing to give up everything to win the match.
My Thoughts on the Chapter
Firstly, let’s talk about how sweet Ness is to Kaiser. Ness was there offering his full support, only to be mistreated once again. Although I like that about Kaiser’s character, I know it’s an unpopular opinion. His coldhearted nature fits him so well. While I don’t think Ness deserves this treatment, it’s clear that Ness still wants to be by Kaiser’s side despite it all.
The Isagi and Noah Moment
Lastly, let’s talk about that awesome panel of Isagi standing beside Noel Noah in front of a golden throne. The visual gives me chills, and I hope to see more of Isagi and Noah playing together in future matches.
Final Thoughts
So those are my thoughts on Chapter 262. What do you think? Will Kaiser score in the next chapter, or will Isagi continue his domination? Let me know in the comments! If you enjoy Blue Lock Manga Chapters !!!
