Review
Alright, so today I’m back with yet another chapter review and today we will go over chapter 259, which is insane.
Recap from the Previous Chapter
To start off chapter 259, let’s read the text at the top to remember what happened in the last chapter:
“Seeing his team on the verge of being stolen by Asahi, Kaiser seethed with rage with his back against the wall, and with only Nessa’s support, how will Kaiser turn this almost disastrous situation back in his favor?”
Kaiser’s Resolve and Isagi’s Evolution
In fitting with that description, we see the new Gen 11 looking more furious than ever. Kaiser grabs his shoulder hard and says that as annoying as it is, Isagi is evolving, and if he learns to master that outrageous and insane shot, his value as a striker will skyrocket. If that wasn’t bad enough, Kaiser says Isagi is on the verge of taking over his team. Kaiser is furious at the thought of being second fiddle to Isagi.
Suddenly, someone screams his name—it’s Ness. He says that with this new formation, he is Kaiser’s only ally. However, Kaiser tells him to shut up, saying that the only objective is to show Isagi that no matter how much he tries, he will never surpass Kaiser. It’s now or never, and it’s time for Kaiser to unleash his impossible weapon before Isagi manages to steal everything from him.
The Match Heats Up
The match restarts with the score at 2-1 and PXG starting with the ball. Nanase passes the ball to Flying Rin, who faces Recti and Hori. He takes a deep breath and looks over at Charles, who shocks him by asking to be subbed out. Charles complains that none of his passes are going through and calls them boring, frustrating Loki. However, the action intensifies as Rin is pressed by both Reich and Hori. But just as the double press seems to succeed, Corona returns to the pitch and easily steals the ball.
Kaiser’s New Weapon: The Kaiser Impact Magnus
After a brief exchange, Kaiser steals the ball from Asahi. We then flash back to the German Stratum training field, where Kaiser explains the concept of the Magnus Effect to Ness. He goes through three steps: the mechanism of a spinning ball, the creation of aerodynamic force, and the Magnus Effect, which makes the ball curve towards areas of lower air pressure.
Kaiser reveals that his new weapon is a curved version of the Kaiser Impact. After practicing, he manages to curve the ball without sacrificing its speed or power. However, during the game, he admits it’s still difficult to execute when the ball is in motion.
Kaiser’s Struggle
As the match progresses, Kaiser and Ness pass the ball with increasing difficulty. Kaiser acknowledges that while he hasn’t perfected his new weapon, Ness remains supportive, encouraging him to complete it during the game. Despite an intense build-up, Kaiser’s first attempt at the Kaiser Impact Magnus misses the goal, causing him great frustration.
Kaiser’s Frustration and the Chapter’s Ending
The chapter ends with Kaiser falling to the ground and screaming in frustration. His scream echoes throughout the stadium as everyone, including Isagi, looks on in disbelief. Kaiser’s frustration is evident as the text at the bottom reads:
“To turn the tables back in his favor, Kaiser unleashes his new weapon, the Kaiser Impact Magnus. However, his first attempt sails way off target.”
The next chapter is titled “Piece of Trash”, which might refer to Kaiser blaming himself for the miss. It will be interesting to see how Kaiser deals with this failure and whether he can perfect his new weapon before the match ends.
Final Thoughts
I must say, I’m pretty glad Kaiser missed—not because I dislike him, but because it adds a layer of depth to the story. If he had succeeded right away, it would feel too close to Isagi’s recent development. I believe the author is downplaying Kaiser in this match so he can grow and return stronger for the U-20 World Cup.
However, it’s also possible that Kaiser could lose his cool and become more instinct-driven, similar to how Rin acted during the U-20 match. What do you think is next for Kaiser? Let me know in the comments!
Closing Remarks
I’m excited to see how Corona evolves throughout the game, and Charles is still getting on my nerves with his childish attitude. Anyway, those are just my thoughts. Please leave your thoughts and theories down in the comments!
