Review
Alright, so today I’m back with yet another chapter review, and today we will go over chapter 241, which is insane. So be sure to stick till the end because you don’t want to miss it! Anyway, I’m gonna stop talking, and let’s get right into the chapter.
Match Overview
So, we begin chapter 241 by seeing which teams are facing off. We see that Spain is up against Paris, and England is facing the mighty Users. Now, what does this mean for Bastard Munch? Well, it means that it’s finally their turn to sit this round out. Everyone is on the training field, and Hori is sitting down on the ground. He says that while the other teams battle each other, they can instead use the time to train and level up. Since their final match is against PXG and will also be the last match of the Neoegoist League, it means that it’s their last opportunity to showcase their worth.
Team Dynamics and Strategies
We see Igarashi looking frightened as Hori says this, while Reich, on the other hand, is laughing like a maniac. He wonders why his value is lower than Hiori’s but ensures everyone that he’s definitely not pissed. Hori comments that despite what Reich is saying, he looks oddly satisfied with himself, and our shark tags along by saying that Reich can’t hide the fact that he’s super hyped to have got his own offer. They all laugh before Yukimia says that Hiori’s assist to Isagi was absolutely sick and wonders if anything happened.
Character Development: Hiori’s New Mentality
Hori tells them that he finally bought into the Blue Lock mentality, saying that he wants to produce the world’s strongest striker and play football alongside players who can understand his passes. With Hiori’s new mentality, he looks at them and says that he is ready to discard any player who is too stupid to understand his passes. They are all caught off guard, and Yukimia says that this new Hori reminds him of Itoshiai. Ranchi comments that it means Hori has given up on his goal of becoming a striker and is now set on settling as a playmaker.
Isagi’s Frustration
After that, Hori changes the conversation and says that he’s at least not getting roasted on social media like Isagi is. Isagi is taken aback by this as he’s never heard about that. Yuri then reads out some of the comments from their latest game against the Users, highlighting how Isagi and Michael Kaiser could become the most lethal striker duo if they sync up with each other. Isagi looks disgusted until he breaks out in anger, refusing the idea of teaming up with Kaiser.
Training and Igarashi’s Dilemma
Corona suddenly starts to walk away, saying that he needs to work on individual training. Ricci agrees that they all need to level up and move up in the rankings. All except Igarashi, who approaches Isagi, seeking advice on how to survive since he hasn’t played in a match yet. Isagi advises Igarashi to focus on his own unique ego and short-term goals, encouraging him not to lose sight of his own motivation.
Kaiser’s Ambition
Meanwhile, Michael Kaiser, who is valued at a staggering 320 million yen, is training to surpass Noel Noah. He intends to secure a bigger offer from another club and force his way out of Bastard Munch. Kaiser’s frustration and determination are evident as he kicks the ball against the net. Alexis Ness, observing Kaiser, reflects on their past and Kaiser’s influence on him.
Flashback Hints
The chapter ends with hints of an upcoming flashback that will delve into the history of Kaiser and Ness’s partnership. The next chapter, titled “The Blue Rose and the Magician, Part One,” promises to explore the exciting past of these characters.
Final Thoughts
I was glad to see Igarashi finding some belief in himself, even though I’m a pretty big Igarashi hater. I still don’t want to see him go just yet, as that would be extremely sad. Also, I noticed Corona walking away, which might hint at some personal motivation or frustration on his part. I hope to see Noah prioritize Corona in the upcoming match.
