Review
Introduction
Alright, so today I’m back with yet another chapter review, and today we will go over chapter 245, which is insane! Be sure to stick till the end because you don’t want to miss it.
Match Highlights
The chapter begins with the Manshine City vs. Uber’s match, with the current scores being one to Manshine City and two to the Ubers. Agi is up in the air as he’s just gotten the ball passed to him. Chris on the sideline screams at him to pass to Nai, which makes Agi a bit annoyed, but he still does as Chris says and sends it over to the genius Nagai, who traps it flawlessly.
Niko and Aru are standing before Nagai, and Aru says to activate the anti-genius defense. Nagai confidently challenges them to stop him and effortlessly gets past them. However, just as he is about to score, Lorenzo comes by, embracing his zombie persona, and blocks his attempt.
The Turning Point
Lorenzo taunts Nagai, saying that he isn’t the only one who’s special. Just then, Rio arrives and motivates Nagai to shoot the ball without hesitation. Despite Rio’s encouragement, Nagai’s shot gets blocked by Aiku’s face. Aiku mocks Nagai, saying that he was too slow, questioning Nagai’s passion and skill.
As the ball soars in the air, Beu seizes the moment, charging through Manshine City’s defense, determined to finish the match. But in a dramatic twist, Chiigiri Homa, the child prodigy, intervenes with a spectacular save, momentarily halting Beu’s momentum.
Game Decider
Despite Chiigiri’s heroic save, the ball falls to Senddo, who manages to score the decisive goal for Ubers, sealing the victory against Manshine City. The players of Ubers celebrate their win, having defeated Manshine City with ease.
Nagai and Rio’s Dilemma
Nagai, exhausted and disheartened, receives a reality check from Aii, who warns Rio that their partnership might be holding them back. Aii advises Rio to focus on his own growth if he wants to become a world-class player. Rio, however, fiercely rejects the idea of abandoning Nagai, showing his loyalty and determination.
Baru’s Ambition
Nagai, still in a state of self-doubt, asks Baru about his motivation to play football. Baru, without hesitation, declares his goal to become the best player in the world and to define an era of football as its king. Baru’s words hit Nagai hard, pushing him to confront his lack of ambition and hunger for victory.
Side Story: PXG vs. FC Bacha
In another match, PXG defeats FC Bacha with Shida scoring the final goal. This result sets the stage for an intense showdown between the undefeated teams, Bastard Munch and PXG, in the Neo Egoist League. The players of Bastard Munch eagerly anticipate this upcoming battle, with Isagi determined to prove himself against the best.
Final Thoughts
This chapter was packed with intense moments and character development. Nagai’s current struggles highlight a crisis of confidence that he needs to overcome if he wants to reclaim his competitive edge. Rio’s loyalty and determination to support Nagai despite the odds showcase the complexity of their partnership.
On the other hand, Baru’s unwavering ambition and Chiigiri’s all-around performance continue to impress, making them standout characters in this arc. The focus on Shida and the buildup to the match against PXG also adds excitement for what’s to come in the Neo Egoist League.
