Review

Alright, so today I'm back with yet another chapter review, and today we will go over Chapter 270, which is going to be something really special. We will see Rin completely toying with the players of Bastard Munch, and we will also see a duel between Rin and Isagi as he tries to stop Rin, not to mention some flashbacks from Rin's younger years. I can definitely guarantee that it's worth sticking around because it's insane. Anyway, I'm going to stop talking and let's get right into the chapter.

The Monster Awakens

To start off Chapter 270, the text at the top says, "A monster filled with murderous intent has finally been born. A new massacre begins." With that, we dive into the chapter where we see a shocked Noah and Loki, who are looking at the monster-like Rin. Rin currently has the ball and a dark aura around him, with his tongue out, indicating his extreme concentration.

Ricci is furious and asks how Rin didn't get a foul for pushing over Corona in the last chapter. However, Isagi thinks that Rin touched the ball first, so there will be no foul. He reflects on how Rin is bringing out his best and destroying it, just like he did in the U-20 match. Isagi knows that Rin is about to go all out.

Rin's Rampage

We see Rin's determination as he rushes toward Raimi. Ricci tries to block him but fails, and Rin just slaps Ricci's arm aside, pushing him away. Then, Kira Jin sneaks up on Rin to steal the ball, but Rin predicted this move and floats the ball to avoid him.

After a series of skillful passes and dodges, Rin shows his brilliant play by doing a rainbow flick over Hori, completely demolishing him. This moment is incredibly cool, and it's clear that Rin's dark aura is growing stronger with every play.

Isagi vs Rin: The Duel Begins

Isagi, closely following Rin’s movements, realizes that Rin's play is centered around his unique combination of individual skills and efficient passing. He refers to Rin as a "self-tying egoist," unlike Kaiser, who let go of his obsession with Isagi. Isagi starts to understand Rin's mental structure and begins figuring out how to twist Rin's play into his own will.

As Isagi processes Rin’s game style, his puzzle pieces fly around him, indicating his growing understanding. He recalls the U-20 game and acknowledges Rin’s dangerous flow mode, where Rin thrives on exposing and trampling his opponent's highest form.

Rin's Flashback

Before the chapter ends, we get a flashback of Rin’s childhood, where he’s seen playing with toys. Rin, who breaks a superhero toy, is comforted by his brother, Say. Say tells Rin that unlike humans, toys don't bleed but once broken, they can't be healed. To cheer Rin up, Say offers to get some ice cream and reassures Rin that he will always be by his side until the day he dies.

The Final Showdown

Back in the present, Rin loses his dark aura in a split second. Both Rin and Isagi are out of balance, and their eyes are glowing with intense determination. Isagi challenges Rin to bring out his best, and they clash side by side for the ball.

The chapter ends with the text, "The past with his brother... Rin's ego is unraveled in the woven memories," and the next chapter is titled "Life is Beautiful."

Final Thoughts

This chapter was packed with intensity, especially with Rin’s insane rainbow flick over Hori and his dark, rage-filled mode. I absolutely loved seeing Rin dominate the field and how his strategy is to crush his opponents at their best. It’s also incredible to see the contrast between Isagi’s puzzle pieces and Rin’s darkness aura, especially in their clash scene.

The flashback to Rin’s childhood was heartwarming, though bittersweet, and it gives us deeper insight into his bond with his brother, Say. It feels like this might play an important role in Rin’s future development.

In terms of predictions, I believe Rin might score at least one goal, but I can't wait to see how this clash with Isagi turns out in the next chapter!
